Women-Golfers.com began in 2007 and is owned and operated by me, Cathy Mitschele. That’s me in the caracature to the left. I decided that I just had to learn to play golf. The problem was that I knew nothing about the sport and I was too embarrassed to ask anyone. So I started doing some research and found that, like me, there were many newbies out there – and although there are one or two good sites – most of them are about the pros or they’re a retail site.

I structured this website about what other ladies wanted to know. Hopefully it will give you a good place to come and get some information or reviews on products or whatever. If there is something you want to know about and it isn’t covered here, just shoot over to contact page and I’ll get on it.

Just remember that you’re not dealing with some big company and I don’t own a retail store. Although I’m a new golfer, I am just as passionate as anyone else about this sport. In fact I’m hooked! So I go out and find out more and more about what’s going on and if I like something or it seems to be of interest to my readers, I will review it and perhaps even sell it here. The overall goal I have is to answer your questions so you don’t have to go and research elsewhere. But if I don’t know something – and can’t find out — I’ll tell you! But I will try to get the answer! In addition, I have hired some experts here and there to give us their feedback on different subjects.

If you have ANY feedback on the site, problems, advertising related questions, or whatever, contact me here. The site is very much a work in progress – if you find a lot of pages which aren’t finished, please bear with me. I have totally redesigned the site and it takes time. There are even more articles lined up for you so please stay tuned and check back often! It’s really a pleasure to do this and I hope you like the site!

A little more about me . . .

I worked for 27 years on Wall Street as an Institutional Stock Broker. I opened and managed an office in London from 1996-2000 and then marketed a product I had created for my customers which I later sold to a major corporation in 2006. At that time I retired. Ahhhh. Finally no more stress.

I moved back to the states and was really exhausted. So I decided it was about time to take care of me. Unfortunately, my dad died and now I’m helping out my mom and living with her. It was my father who introduced me to the great game of golf. He was an avid golfer for over 50 years and he spent most of his time at his club. He was very generous and let me take some lessons there. I was lucky that I got to spend some quality time with him on the golf course before he passed away.

Perhaps that is why I’m so passionate about the sport and although I’ll never be a scratch player, I sure do have fun at it! I hope you do as well!
