The number one rule they offered is, “play the round of golf free of any business discussion.” Sharing your method and frustration of getting the ball down the fairway, they added, is an ice breaker for discussing business later.

Another tip the women golfers said not to do; is to play your game down so the client wins. Some balls in the rough may not be too blatant, but keep it to a minimum as it can be insulting to the client or your boss. If you're a great player than play well. You should always do your best and more often than not, you will be respected for it. If you're playing with men and you're afraid you'll hurt their pride if you beat them, it's up to you to decide if you want to play down. Just remember you're here to do business, earn respect and to honor the sport. Not to get a date!
