Caribbean Golf Vacations

There’s nothing more exciting for women golfers than trying out a new golf course, especially when the course is located in an exotic, beautiful location like the Caribbean. Flights and hotels are reasonable in this area and you can even spice things up a bit by doing some island hopping.

The Bahamas

Zip down to Paradise Island and the renowned One & Only Ocean Club. With 35 beachfront acres and private villas surrounded by 35 acres of gardens, you can't go wrong. Originally, this was a private estate owned by Huntington Hartford II in the 60s. Loads of polititians and celebrities flocked here. Now it's the ultimate of destinations for beach, golf and loads more. Children are welcome. The clubhouse overlooks the 9th and 18th holes of the Ocean Club Golf Course - designed by Tom Weiskopf and the site of the annual Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational.

Jamaica

Ritz Carlton

One of the Caribbean’s top golfing islands is Jamaica. Go worry-free and stay at one of Jamaica’s many golf resorts. With water blowing off the sea at one of Jamaica’s several world-class golf courses, you’ll find even the hazards to be fun to overcome. The beauty of Jamaican courses is that you’ll find courses of every level of difficulty. Considered some of the best courses, the The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay and the Rose Hall Resort & Country Club in the Montego Bay area are excellent eighteen-hole courses. For those wanting an easier route, the Grand Lido Braco Resort & Spa All Inclusive near Discovery Bay offers a leisurely 9-holes, perfect for beginners or women wanting a short morning of golf.

Aruba

Also exotic is a golfing vacation to Aruba. Buoyed by the trade winds, this exotic southern Caribbean location offers sweeping views of the coastline as you play your way through several lovely golf courses. The championship Tierra del Sol is both challenging and pleasurable for women golfers interested in beautiful surroundings and a fabulous game of golf. Tierra del Sol offers a 16-hole, par-71 course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Featuring wild green parakeets, organ-pipe cactuses, and interesting rock formations, you’ll feel like a queen playing golf in this paradise.

For those interested in a 9-hole experience in Aruba, Divi Aruba All Inclusive is beautiful, tropical and full of adventure. The Aruba Golf Course is also a 9-hole golf course, featuring 20 sand traps and five water traps to keep the woman golfer busy.

U.S. Virgin Islands

Frenchman's Reef
Marriott Frenchman's Reef

Women's golf is alive and well in the US Virgin Islands. There are golf courses on St. Thomas and St. Croix. The most famous course is the Mahogany Run Golf course, located in one of the beautiful parts of St. Thomas. Nestled along the rugged coastline, it is one of the most spectacular locations you’ll find in Caribbean golfing. It runs beside steep drop-offs and has beautiful tropical trees to challenge even the best of golfers. Sometimes only a sand trap lies between you and the ocean. The sea winds pose a challenge as well and can provide you with another hazard as you run this lovely course. Nearby are the Marriott Frenchman's Reef and Morning Star Beach Resort and the The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas for you to stay before and after your game.

Puerto Rico

El Conquistador

Puerto Rico is a hot spot for women's golf in the Caribbean. With beautiful beach sand just about everywhere you look, your golf game can’t get any better. The island's best-known golf complex is a foursome of Robert Trent Jones Sr. courses shared by the Hyatt Regency Dorado Beach and Hyatt Regency Cerromar. All four layouts bear Jones' signature runway tees, ample bunkering, and big, sculpted greens, but with the unmistakable island flavoring of wind, ocean views and lagoons. Another golf resort with double the fun is Four Points by Sheraton Palmas del Mar Resort , the island's largest resort/residential community. In addition, one of the island's most dramatic settings belongs to the elegant El Conquistador Resort & Golden Door Spa . Perched on a 300-foot bluff overlooking the ocean, the resort has commanding views in all directions and a variety of lodging styles in lush tropical settings. And the list goes on as Puerto Rico is filled with beautiful courses.
